Courteney Cox finally lands Emmy nod after Friends snubs

Courteney Cox has finally been recognised by Emmy Awards voters after becoming the only Friends star never to grab a nomination.

The actress snagged her long-awaited Emmy nod for her role in the HBO Max special Friends: The Reunion.

Cox, who executive produced and starred in the get together, was nominated in the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) category on Tuesday.

Prior to the end of Friends in 2004, the show had landed 62 Emmy nominations, but Cox was notably the only main cast member to be repeatedly snubbed.

Last month, she told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show, "When every single cast member was nominated but me, it definitely hurt my feelings. I was happy for everybody, and then when it was finally like, 'Oh, I’m the only one?,' it hurt."

Celebrating her nod on Tuesday, Courteney posted a photo of the Friends cast on Twitter and wrote: "The one where we are incredibly grateful to the Academy for this honor..."
