The Montreal Open Door homeless shelter is calling for donations after sharing a picture on Facebook of their empty shelves.
According to Global News, the shelter has seen an increase in traffic over the course of the last few months, which has caused them to go through their supplies sooner than expected. It has become evident overtime that more and more people are in dire need of help.
After sharing an image on Facebook, they are calling on the public to help provide donations as the shelter is running low on resources. Their greatest need? Clothing.
Some of the highly requested items include: jeans, t-shirts, pants, shorts, and shoes for both sexes in all sizes. They are also emphasizing the need for never-used undergarments such as underwear, bras and socks.
“We do the best we can but we really depend on the kindness of the community at large to be able to best serve the people,” Open Door’s coordinator, John Tessier, said.
Located on Park Avenue, you can drop off donations 7 days a week before 8pm at the front entrance of the building.
