Have you been able to spot the new rainbow-coloured building in downtown Montreal?
Just in time for MURAL Fest, the Hôtel Le Germain on Mansfield just re-designed the front of their 171-foot-high building with a beautiful painted facade created by visual artist Michelle Hoogveld.
The project that should take at least two week to complete, features colors like fuchsia, gold, turquoise, and blue. Being one of the biggest projects Hoogveld has done to date, she along with the rest of the city will be able to admire the mural for a minimum of 5 years.
The Daily Hive got to speak to Hoogveld on the project: “‘The Le Germain Hotel expressed that they had a dream to add a beautiful mural to their facade. [...] It was shortly after where I was commissioned by MURAL Festival to bring this dream to life.’ She says the hotel has plans to have the colourful facade expand to two walls of the building, which is expected to be completed earlier this month.”
