The government of Canada is easing travel restrictions in the country as of September 7th, and here is everything you need to know about it...
For the first time since March 2020, international travellers are now permitted to enter Canada for all non-essential travel purposes. If they meet entry requirements, they will not be expected to quarantine for the 14-day period. The requirements that they must meet include:
-Be fully vaccinated from a government-approved vaccine (Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Covishield and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).
-Have a negative COVID-19 molecular test result taken at least 72 hours prior to their flight.
-Travellers must be asymptomatic
-Submit all necessary information on the ArriveCAN application.
-If randomly selected, travellers must take a COVID-19 test upon arrival.
According to CTV News, “As of August 9, fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take a test upon arrival unless they are randomly selected to complete one. All travellers randomly selected for a test must complete it, but they do not need to quarantine while awaiting the result.”
Canadian airports are advising travellers to expect several delays due to the increase in traffic. This can go anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
