Well, that time of year has arrived again… Election Day in Canada.
With the many restrictions put in place, voting will look a lot more different than what we’re used to. In need of a little more information before today’s big day? Here’s everything you need to know about Election Day:
Polling Station: To make sure you’re going to the right place, refer to the address on the back of your voter information card that should have been sent to you in the mail. Still haven’t received it? You can get all of that information on the Elections Canada website.
Hours: Quebecers can vote up until 9:30pm this evening.
Accepted identifications: You must have two pieces of ID on hand when arriving at your polling station. While there are many different forms of identification that are being accepted, one of them must have your current living address.
COVID-19 regulations: All voters must arrive wearing a mask, unless they have a medical exception. Should you forget a mask, there will be masks available at each polling station. Should you refuse to wear a mask, you will not be allowed to enter the polling station. All poll workers will be wearing masks and will be sanitizing surface areas regularly. Single-use pencils will be provided.
According to CTV News, “If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 on election day, you should ask your local public health authority on what to do. If you test positive, Elections Canada says that you won’t be able to vote.”
