Over 3,500 new toys are expected to be donated to 1,500 children in need this holiday season.

According to their website, the Welcome Hall Mission “is the largest doorway to help for Montrealers in need. Many programs are available to support those experiencing homelessness, young single mothers, families and at-risk youth.”

Courtesy of volunteers at Welcome Hall Mission, many families will find the support they need during this difficult time of year.

CTV News’ Matt Gilmour had the chance to speak with CEO Sam Watts on the families that this campaign will be supporting:

“It’s for families who come in regularly to our free grocery stores,” explains Watts. “So these are families that, at the end of the month, they’re having to make difficult choices — like ‘do I buy boots for my kids or do I pay the rent?’”

On top of toys, families that visited the Sud-Ouest Mission this last Saturday had the chance to meet Santa Claus during their stay… Spreading all of the Christmas cheer!
