Canadian singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin is breaking records at this year’s Canadian Juno Awards ceremony.
The ‘Meaningless’ singer is leading with six nominations, which includes Single and Artist of The Year… Falling right behind Cardin, is Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, each with 5 Juno nominations.
Talk about impressive.
Some of her other nominations include Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, which includes other nominees like Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and Tate McRae.
The Montreal-born singer-songwriter, who first debuted on La Voix in 2013, released her first album Phoenix back in April of 2021, which caught the attention of music lovers everywhere. Cardin expressed her love and gratitude for the album to fans on Instagram during its release, sharing what Phoenix is really all about:
“I am proud of this album more than I have ever been proud of anything in my life. Not even exclusively because of the music on it, but mainly because of the growth I have felt throughout the creative process around it. Because of the friendships I have found and solidified thanks to this record.”
According to CTV News, “In 2021, Cardin's debut album, "Phoenix," made her the first Canadian female artist to spend two weeks at No. 1 on the Canadian Billboard album chart since famed Quebec diva Celine Dion did so in September 2016.”
The Montreal-born artist is breaking records, touring the world, and making young Quebec women everywhere so proud… A success story we truly love to see.
We’ll be able to see her take the stage on Sunday, May 15th at the Juno Awards, which will be airing on CBC live from Toronto at 8pm ET.
