Britney Spears's fiancé Sam Asghari has thanked fans for the supportive messages they've received since announcing their pregnancy loss.
Over the weekend, the singer and her partner announced on Instagram that they had lost their "miracle baby" early in Britney's pregnancy. On Monday, Sam issued a statement thanking followers for their messages and assured them they will expand their family "soon".
"We have felt your support. We are taking things positively and moving forward with our future," Sam wrote on his Instagram Stories. "It's hard but we are not alone. Thank you for respecting our privacy. We will be expanding our family soon (heart emoji)."
Britney, who got engaged to Sam in September, revealed they were expecting their first child together in an Instagram post in April.
Announcing their loss over the weekend, they wrote in a joint statement, "It is with deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent.
"Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however we were overly excited to share the good news."
In the caption of the post, the singer wrote, "We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family... Thank you for your support."
The couple began dating after meeting on the set of Britney's Slumber Party music video in 2016.
She shares two sons - Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15 - with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
