Have a case of the midweek blues? You’re not alone. Wednesdays are arguably one of the toughest days to get through in the week… But, not to worry! There are many different ways to help boost your mood.

According to the Journal of Personality & Social Psychology, the best way to help improve your mood when feeling down is by getting up and exercising. It’s truly as simple as that! Not only are you doing your body a favour by moving it, it is also known as the best strategy to help increase your energy levels and reduce tension… Which will help put your mind at ease.

Now, listen… This doesn’t mean you have to sign up to your local crossfit gym to help improve your mood (or maybe it does!). Exercise can be something as simple as going for a quick walk around the block. As long as you’re getting your body moving instead of sitting on the couch all night and scrolling through social media, you will be doing yourself a major favour.

Other ways to help boost your mood include:

  • Wake up earlier
  • Clean up the house
  • Take up journaling
  • Listen to music
  • Meditate
  • Dim the lights and pull out some candles
  • Make sure to get enough sleep
  • Call a loved one
