Julianne Moore sometimes wonders what she would look like as a "tanned blonde".
The Still Alice actress is known for her signature porcelain complexion and red locks.
But during a recent interview with The Times, Julianne admitted that she took a long time to accept her looks.
"My red hair made me feel like an outsider growing up. Redheads are two per cent of the global population," she said. "Nobody wants to feel like they're in the minority, particularly as a young child. Now I feel very identified with my hair and freckles, but there's still a part of me that would rather be a tanned blonde."
Elsewhere in the conversation, Julianne joked that she doesn't "do well in gyms" and cited yoga as her preferred form of exercise.
She also noted that her fair skin means she has to layer on sunscreen and wear a hat every time she steps outdoors.
"That has made the biggest difference to me in terms of maintaining my skin. But people do not want to hear that," the 62-year-old added.
