Earlier this week, the 'Royal Canadian Mint' released a special edition coin to honour Black history month. What is special about it, you ask? It represents $20.

In an interview, Russel Grosse, executive director of the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, revealed what the coin meant. "The coin commemorates the remarkable legacy of No. 2 and builds on the formal apology that was given by the Government of Canada this past summer to ensure that this important history is remembered," he said.

July 9, 2022 is when Justin Trudeau and the Minister of National Defence issued this formal apology.

The 'tails' side of the coin in question features a soldier of No. 2 Construction Battalion, standing between what appears to be two railroad tracks.

On the 'heads' side, the effigy of late Queen Elizabeth II can be found against a maple leaf background.

The coin is currently available on Royal Canadian Mint's website for $99.95.
