Netflix attempts to gain back its unsubscribers...without success

When Netflix announced its new password-sharing rules earlier last month, Quebecers weren't impressed. So much in fact, that the streaming platform lost an abundant amount of subscribers. Instead, avid film and TV amateurs turned to Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime and more.

Now, to face this loss of subsribers, Netflix is attempting to lure back its members. How, you ask? With promotional emails.

Netflix has been repeatedly sending unsubscribers emails in order to tentatively have them sign up again. These emails have been promoting a '$5.99 per month plan'. The catch? This is Netflix's most basic plan, showing ads during TV shows and movies as well as not including downloads.

What do you think, Montreal? Is this the right way for Netflix to try to gain its subscribers back? Have you personally received an email from the streaming platform recently?
