Less than 30 days after Montreal was striked with a week-long power outage due to a freezing rain storm, the electricity gods have struck again...
Hundreds of thousands of Montrealers have just been faced with another power outage. Earlier this afternoon, Hydro-Quebec issued out a statement on Twitter, indicating the loss of power for close to half a million customers all over the province.
The cause of this unexpected power loss has been ruled out as a malfunction at Hydro-Quebec's Churchill Falls power station.
In Montreal alone, close to 3,000 customers are currently out of power. The most affected region in the province is currently Montérégie, where close to 25,000 customers are currently out of power.
Hydro-Quebec's teams are still investigating. The return of power has not yet been determined. For the latest updates, visit Hydro-Quebec's power outage information page.
