Yep, it's official! During King Charles III's official coronation on Saturday, the Royal Canadian Mint announced the new king would soon replace the late Queen Elisabeth on Canada's $20 bills.
Not only that, but the new king will also be present on Canada's coins.
Designs have not yet been shared with the public. The King's proposed effigy will only be shared with Canadians starting this fall.
Though the reigning monarch has appeared on Canadian coins since 1908 and on bank notes since 1935, other propositions are being made (some Canadians would even prefer Celine Dion's face be on Canada's new money!) Terry Fox, for example, has been rumoured to appear on Canada's new $5 bills.
Whose face would you want to see on Canada's new money, Montreal?
