The effects of the storm: Here's what happened in Montreal last night
Montreal Tornado Watch / The Beat 92.5

As you may have heard...or seen...Montreal was hit with a very heavy thunderstorm last night. This storm followed a previous warning made by Environment Canada earlier in the day, calling for a tornado watch in the region.

"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms with the potential to produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rainfall are also possible with these storms," had warned The Weather Network. Montrealers have since come to learn that all this was in fact true...

This tornado watch had Montrealers' phones blasting several times yesterday. Once at 3pm and then another time around 5pm, when region-wide alerts were sent, warning of dangerous weather conditions.

After receiving about 100 milimetres of rain, Montreal unfortunately had to temporarily close some of its roads, including part of Highway 15.

But that's not all...the harsh weather in the region also caused some trees to fall down, resulting in a few 100,000 Montrealers to lose power. The power outages have since been solved.

Mirabel seems to have taken on most of the tornado, with sightings of the harsh weather making its way across this region around rush hour last night.
