Michael Cera has revealed he wore "full body makeup" in Barbie.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, the Juno actor explained that it took "a lot of work" to get his look right for his role as the sun-kissed Allen in the upcoming live-action Barbie film.
"It takes a lot of work!" the Superbad actor told the magazine. "Everybody on the movie had to get full body makeup. And it's really the breaking down of it."
The 35-year-old continued, "At the end of the day, they take almond oil onto a rag (to take it off) and it smells weird, and then you have to go home and take a shower. We're all painted to be all Barbie-toned."
The actor's character appears on his movie poster with bright red hair, bold red eyebrows, and a glowing tan, all of which are not a part of his usual look.
The movie's tanning expert Kimberley Nkosi previously told Marie Claire that Michael's co-star Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the film, needed to have his tan redone every week during production.
"We generally had to re-apply his tan every week unless there was a specifically big scene where the studio wanted his tan to look as fresh and as 'perfect' as possible," she shared.
The highly anticipated Greta Gerwig film, which stars Margot Robbie, America Ferrera, and Will Ferrell, will be released on Friday.
