Timbaland has come under fire following a misogynistic comment he made about Britney Spears.
While speaking at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts last week, a reporter noted to the producer that Justin Timberlake's song Cry Me a River had been back in the headlines amid the recent release of Britney's memoir The Woman in Me.
"She going crazy, right?" Timbaland, 51, replied to the journalist in video footage obtained by Pop Base. "I wanted to call and say, 'JT, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl.'"
Britney's fans have sinced criticised the 51-year-old producer for the comment.
"Karma will get you @Timbaland," one fan wrote on X/Twitter alongside a photo of Britney holding up her middle finger, while another quipped, "How do I put a muzzle on Timbaland?"
Britney's memoir detailed her relationship with Justin, which lasted from 1999 to 2002.
The Toxic singer wrote that Justin cheated on her multiple times and she fell pregnant while they were dating.
Justin allegedly said the two weren't ready to be parents and, as a result, Britney underwent an abortion.
Britney also claimed that Justin's 2002 music video for Cry Me a River depicted her as a "harlot".
