Selena Gomez has quit social media after the recent Golden Globes drama.
The 31-year-old star announced on Tuesday that she would be taking a break from social media after being accused of gossiping about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes on Sunday.
"I'm off social for a while," Selena wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a video of her boyfriend Benny Blanco. "I'm focusing on what really matters."
Selena's announcement comes days after a video went viral of the former Disney star enthusiastically talking to Taylor Swift and actor Miles Teller's wife Keleigh Sperry.
Soon after the video hit social media, fans began to speculate about what the trio were discussing. It was then rumoured that Selena had said that she had asked Timothée and Kylie for a photo and been turned down.
According to Mail Online, forensic lip-reader Jeremy Freeman claimed that Selena told her friends, "He didn't want a picture with me, he said no," to which Keleigh said, "Timothée?"
Selena denied the rumours on Monday in the comments section of a post shared by E! News.
"Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone business (sic)," the Single Soon hitmaker wrote.
When asked about the rumours by TMZ, Timothée denied having a problem with Selena, adding that he and his A Rainy Day in New York co-star are on good terms.
This is not the first time the Only Murders in the Building star has taken a break from social media - she often takes a hiatus from the platform.
