Kelly Clarkson has described her talk show as "the easiest job (she's) ever had".
The American Idol winner insisted on the SmartLess podcast that hosting and chatting to celebrities on The Kelly Clarkson Show is a piece of cake.
"A lot of people will be like, 'It's really kind of hard,' it's really not, it's like the easiest job I've ever had," she stated. "But, for the most part, I'm pretty good with people so it's really the easiest (job)... it's just a fun job."
However, the Breakaway singer noted that her decision to open every show with a cover song sometimes causes problems.
"The hardest part of my talk show is just that I was like, 'Hey, I have this idea, we can open with a song, I could elevate other artists that I love and do covers or whatever,'" she explained. "It's always trying to figure out (what to sing and) clearing songs, that's the hardest part of the show is just getting that. There is no rehearsal time... We literally don't rehearse it, we just do it."
The 41-year-old enjoys talking to people so that part of the job comes easily to her - unless she's presented with a celebrity who isn't in the mood to chat.
"Have you ever interviewed someone and you're just like, 'OK, so that's it.' I'm like, 'You know I'm here to help you sell your s**t.' That can be hard sometimes, I'm like, 'Wow, do say more,'" she said.
The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019 and she is now in her fifth season.
