Well, Montreal - the infamous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo from Costco will no longer be available to nonmembers very soon…

That’s right, Costco is implementing a significant change to its food court policy that will restrict access to the affordable food court options.

Starting April 8, 2024, you will need an active Costco membership to purchase food court items.

It's worth mentioning that a standard Costco membership costs $60, whereas an Executive membership is priced at $120. This might lead you to question the value of a membership for access to the food court…

However, a Costco membership does come with many deals on household items, groceries and gas for example. Also, joining Costco is not a huge risk since you can cancel your membership at any time and get refunded.

Costco has not revealed why they were making that change, but it’s safe to say it will likely attract more people to sign up for the membership.
