Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea "surprised" their families when they announced their plan to get married in Las Vegas.
The Yeah! singer tied the knot with his partner in Sin City hours after he performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show at the nearby Allegiant Stadium in early February.
While the couple surprised their fans with the marriage news, Usher has now revealed that their family members were also shocked when they announced their intention to get hitched that night.
"It was an incredible moment that we felt was great for us," he told Entertainment Tonight. "It was a button at the end of an incredible Las Vegas run. My mother was there, her mother was there, the kids were there, our immediate family was there. Matter of fact, everybody was surprised. I'm like, 'No, no, no, we're having a wedding right now. We're gonna go have Elvis officiate us.'"
Usher and Jennifer exchanged vows at Vegas Weddings' drive-thru wedding chapel The Fast Lane and Usher's mother, Jonnetta Patton, was named as the couple's witness on the marriage certificate.
In his interview with the outlet, the Burn hitmaker also hinted that they are planning to have another "incredible, over-the-top wedding".
Usher, 45, began dating Jennifer in 2019 and they share two children; Sovereign, three, and Sire, two.
He was previously married to Tameka Foster, the mother of his two teenage sons, between 2007 and 2009 and to Grace Miguel between 2015 and 2018.
