Gisele Bündchen has detailed her fitness routine.

The Brazilian supermodel has revealed she keeps fit with a range of exercises, from surfing to horse riding.

"I try to work out six days a week," Gisele, 43, told the Wall Street Journal in a new interview. "I love Pilates, because I had back surgery three years ago and it helps with your core. I like exercise outside: surfing, swimming, horseback riding, volleyball."

She continued, "When I'm on holiday, I do more of that. I do weights about two days a week, cardio about two days a week."

The former Victoria's Secret model noted that she also makes time for regular walks for some peace and quiet.

"I usually walk my dog in the morning and at night. I don't call that cardio, that's just a walk," she said. "It's good for my brain, too. I have to say walks are the best. You just walk. I use it to make calls or just be in silence. We don't get enough of those moments."

Elsewhere in the interview, Gisele revealed that she had previously tried vegetarian and raw diets, but realised they were not for her.

"When I was young, I was like, 'Oh, my God, I love little animals. I don't want to eat meat.' I became anaemic," she stated. "Then I was raw, and I was freezing the whole time. I was blue, my lips were purple in the summer."

"For me, the whole thing about food has become, where is it coming from? How is it grown? It's about having simple foods," Gisele continued. "I see my body as a temple. I don't want to feel sluggish after I eat. I don't want to have a stomachache or be constipated. My whole goal is to live the longest I can living the best life that I can."

The model added that one thing she will never eat is white sugar.

"To me, white sugar means poison," she told the publication. "There's so many other ways you can sweeten your things that are delicious. Honey, maple syrup, dates."

Gisele is set to release a new cookbook, Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul, on 26 March.
