This $0.50 increase will be benefiting around 200,700 employees.
Quebec Labour Minister Jean Boulet said that, “by setting the minimum wage rates for 2024-2025 in this way, the government is once again aiming to support the individuals and families who need it most.”
The government added that the raise will keep the minimum wage to about half the average hourly pay for workers in Quebec, which is the province’s goal.
The minimum wage had an increase of $3.75 in the past 5 years, making it a 31.25 percent increase.
