Shania Twain has explained fans don't recognise her when she's out and about in public because she doesn't wear make-up.
The 58-year-old Canadian music star is one of the biggest performers in the world - having sold over 100 million albums and toured the world multiple times.
But she claims even her most devout fans fail to spot her when she goes about her daily life as she looks so different from her on-stage persona.
Speaking to Waitrose's Dish podcast, the You're Still The One singer said, "I leave the beauty at home. And I just go out, you know, as plain old me. And I get away with it. Trust me, you would not recognise me without the beauty.
"You can get away with a lot. I think women get away with staying under the radar as celebrities more easily because you can leave the beauty."
She added, "You know, you don't walk around in your dancing shoes and your sequins and all of that sort of things. It's easier to play it down."
Shania will be thrilling British and Irish fans with her all-singing, all-dancing, sequin-drenched performances this summer.
She will take to the Pyramid Stage to play the iconic Legend's Slot at the Glastonbury festival later this month, while she also has performance dates set for Cork, Dublin, Stirling, Lytham, Chepstow and London in July.
Fans can also jet to Las Vegas to see her in her Shania Twain: Come On Over - The Las Vegas Residency - All The Hits! show at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino until the end of the year.
