While we’ve had a beautiful spring so far, despite the cool temperatures over the past week, it seems like temperatures this summer will be quite warm in Canada.
According to Jennifer Smith, a national warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, Quebec will experience warmer-than-average temperatures this summer.
She added that daily weather will vary, with heat waves and cool spells fluctuating throughout the season.
Smith also mentioned that last season’s wildfires, which were the worst in Canadian history, have negatively impacted air quality. Environmental experts are closely monitoring the situation.
To assist in predicting the short-term movement of wildfire smoke, Environment Canada announced a new website called FireWork. The website is expected to be operational by the end of July.
