You can now visit these beaches in and around Montreal to cool-off

With the heatwave expected to strike at any moment, you might find yourself wondering where to cool off when even the A/C isn't cutting it. Fortunately, Montreal offers several spots across the city (and some off-island) where you can dip your toes in the water.

Here are some beaches to check out:

Verdun Beach
How to get there: To reach the beach, you can take the metro and disembark at De l’Église station. It's also accessible via bus lines 37 and 12.
When: Open June 15 to September 2 from 10am to 7pm.
How much: Free

Jean-Doré Beach
How to get there: You can access the beach by getting off at the Jean-Drapeau metro and taking the 768 shuttle. 
When: Open June 22 to September 2 from 10am to 7pm.
How much: Free for children under 2 years old. It costs $4.22 for children (3-13 years old), $8.26 for adults (14 and 64 years old) and $7.46 for those who are 65 years old and over.

Plage de l’Est
How to get there: Take the metro to Honoré-Beaugrand station and then catch either the 189 or 186 bus.
When: From 6am to 11pm

Village des Écluses
How to get there: Located 40 minutes from downtown Montreal, you can reach the village by taking Highway 20 westbound, then turning onto QC-338 O and following it until you arrive.
When: They are now open from Thursdays to Sundays from 9am to 11pm.

Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard Nature Park
How to get there: This park is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Montreal (without traffic). Take Highway 40 westbound, exit at Exit 50, then drive along Somerset Street to Boulevard Jacques Bizard, which will take you to the island and the Nature Park.
When: Will be open starting on June 22.
How much: TBD

Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park
How to get there: Take Highway 40 westbound and exit at Exit 49. From there, follow Chemin de l’Anse à l’Orme to Boulevard Gouin O, and then simply follow the signs.
When: No date announcement yet.
How much: Free for children under 5 years old. It costs $4.40 for children (6-17 years old), $5.90 for adults (18 and 59 years old) and $4.40 for those who are 60 years old and over.
