Early Friday morning, Microsoft experienced a global outage which caused organizations across the globe to halt their services from broadcasters, banks, and many airports as well.
Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport was one of the many airports across the world that were forced to cancel and delay the many flights that were schedule earlier in the morning, as passports and tickets were simply not able to be scanned at the check-in counter.
According to the YUL Airport X account around 10am Friday morning, "Airlines affected by the global IT outage are gradually resuming operations."
Earlier in the day, Air Canada and Porter Airlines announced that they would be canceling their flights until noon on Friday, however Porter Airlines later updated their passengers to announce that they would be extending their flight cancellations until 3pm that day.
While other organizations were able to continue services fully at around 10am, many organizations are still struggling to clean up the mess that was made from the outage earlier in the day.
