Sam Smith felt "powerful" wearing a corset for the Unholy music video.

The singer, who uses they/them pronouns, has discussed some of their most iconic looks in a new Vogue video.

Smith recalled the thrill of experimenting with an avant-garde look designed by Hed Mayner for the 2023 project.

"I felt so powerful. This was my first time I wore a corset, and it was a really long two days of shooting in a corset," the star laughed.

Smith also revealed their all-time favourite red-carpet look wasn't the easiest outfit to pull off.

The 32-year-old recalled the effort it took to wear the inflatable all-black Latex look designed by London-based fashion label Harri for the 2023 Brit Awards.

"This is my favourite thing I've ever worn in my life," Smith explained. "Once I was blown up, we had to lube the whole outfit. I remember my mum sitting there being like, 'What the f**k is going on?'

"I couldn't get in the car to get to the red carpet, so I had to walk outside of the arena past all of the crew - and I was just squeaking and walking by."

Smith also discussed their love of experimenting with fashion and revealed the clothes they wear reflect who they "want to be that day".

"I feel like a kid in a dress-up box," they added.
