If you're a frequent shopper on platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji, the thought of meeting strangers to exchange money can sometimes be unsettling. Thankfully, the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has introduced a smart and secure solution to put your mind at ease.
To help protect online buyers and sellers, the SPVM has established designated trading zones across Montreal. These zones are specially designed to enhance safety and reduce the risk of fraud during in-person transactions.
According to the SPVM website, these safe zones are monitored by video surveillance 24/7. They offer a secure environment where you can confidently meet the person you're buying from or selling to and complete your transaction without worry.
