Ever wished you could travel to Toronto from Montreal in just a few hours? Well, this dream might soon become a reality!
The federal government has given the green light for a high-speed rail between Quebec City and Toronto, with plans expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The train could reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour—nearly twice as fast as Via Rail’s current trains.
This new rail line would stop in Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, and also serve Trois-Rivières, Laval, Ottawa, and Peterborough.
However, don’t expect to ride it anytime soon… The high-speed train likely won’t be on the rails until the mid-2030s, if not later.
