Anna Kendrick used to cut the tags out of her clothes before photoshoots because she didn't want the stylists to know where they were from.

The Pitch Perfect actress, who began acting as a teenager, recently revealed that she was embarrassed about shopping at inexpensive stores like Old Navy and Target during her early career, so she cut out her clothing tags before photoshoots to avoid potential judgment.

"I remember my first photoshoots that I ever did. It was for Teen Vogue," she recalled on the Armchair Expert on Dax Shepard podcast. "I had mostly clothes from Old Navy, and so, I would cut Old Navy tags out of the clothes before the photoshoot because I had to change. Then they hand me some really, really expensive item and I have to hand them my clothes and I wanted them to just think, 'Oh, that's just some shirt from a mysterious place.'"

Anna added, "(I was) trying to pretend that I was rocking the vintage Levi's or something and it was all just like Target and Old Navy."

The 39-year-old, who insisted she wasn't "a fashion girly", noted that she had come a long way from those days and would no longer care what a stylist thought about her clothing.

"Recently, like a month ago, I was at a photoshoot and I was wearing something - I don't know it was Old Navy but it was inexpensive - and I was like, 'Oh, now this wouldn't bother me at all,' if a fashion stylist saw that I was wearing something from Target or wherever," she added.
