Usher secretly honoured Virgil Abloh with one of his Super Bowl Halftime Show outfits.

During an interview for Vogue's Life in Looks series, the Yeah! hitmaker recalled how he included a homage to the late Off-White and Louis Vuitton menswear designer with the embellished blue and black costume he wore while skating onstage during the spectacle.

"We lost Virgil. And being able to work with Off-White, it was me being able to have a little bit of him, and his creation, and his house with me," he said, noting that he collaborated with stylist Jeremy Haynes on the look. "And we came up with an incredible moment that was really the crescendo of a lot of hard work in Las Vegas, playing the Super Bowl."

"I literally had to like sliver my body into it within less than 15 seconds. And I got on stage in time. Being able to skate in this outfit. Being able to have comfortability and flexibility in the garment is majorly important," the 46-year-old continued.

Abloh died at the age of 41 in 2021.

Usher went on to note that if fans do some "forensics" on his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, they will be able to see references to other artists.

For instance, the Confessions singer also paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson, whom he has often cited as one of his biggest career influences.

"I wanted to have these athletic gloves. You know, Mike always just does, or just did, like a glitter-filled glove. I had both of them, and I took one off. That was a moment to Michael," he added.

Usher performed at the Super Bowl in February, performing hits such as Yeah!, Burn and Confessions Part II.

The 2025 Halftime Show will be headlined by Kendrick Lamar.
