Muzique, the popular nightclub on St-Laurent Boulevard will officially shut its doors in February, marking the end of an era after almost 20 years of hosting iconic parties.

Muzique first opened in 2009 and quickly became a hotspot, welcoming some of the world’s biggest DJs, including Tiesto, Deadmau5, and Avicii.

John Gumbley, one of the club’s owners, called the closure “bittersweet.” He also believes that road closures on St-Laurent Boulevard contributed as a major factor that affected the business and led to its decline.

One thing is certain: Muzique holds countless memories for many Montrealers, and its closure will undoubtedly leave a bittersweet feeling in the city’s nightlife scene.
