Billy Ray Cyrus has revealed he found himself "crying" over his daughters' new music.

In an emotional social media post, the country singer admitted how moved he was that his daughters Miley and Noah were both releasing new songs.

"Holy s**t," Billy, 63, wrote. "I seldom ever swear in my post but this deserves one! You are witnessing in real time what it feels like for a Dad who with in less than one weeks time has had his a*s kicked and his mind blown by not one ...but two of his own daughters."

The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker tagged Miley, 32, and Noah, 25 in the post, which also featured a side-by-side photo of both women.

"Flesh and blood ... completely taking their art to a whole new level," Billy added.

"Congratulations girls ! Well done. I'm so damn proud of both of you. I'm actually crying as I write this. Thank God you can't see me.

Have fun now and be happy ! Love Dad."

Billy posted the message one day after Miley announced her upcoming album, Something Beautiful, due for release on 30 May. Meanwhile, on 19 March, Noah released a single with indie folk band Fleet Foxes, titled Don't Put It All On Me.

The family has had a series of public rifts since Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus - Miley and Noah's mother - divorced in 2022.

Two months ago, Miley and Noah's older brother, Trace, penned an open letter to their father, begging him to reconnect with his family, writing, "We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns".
