Benny Blanco has explained why he was forced to designate a hilarious nickname for fiancée Selena Gomez.
The 37-year-old music producer, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, has been in a relationship with Gomez, 32, since 2023.
In December last year, they took their romance to the next level as Blanco asked the Rare singer to be his wife - and she said yes.
Appearing together on the Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast, the songwriter revealed his nickname for his wife-to-be, and its origin.
He said, "In my phone - because I didn't want anyone to be over my shoulder looking - I made her salami," - adding that she is still stored in his phone under this name, "to this day."
Discussing their nicknames for each other, Gomez noted, "I think you've maybe called me Sel a few times," - prompting her fiancé to confirm, "I called you Sel today."
Gomez then revealed she simply calls her husband-to-be "babe or love or honey" as a pet name.
Blanco and Gomez first created music together in 2015 with her track Kill Em with Kindness.
Last month, the couple released their first joint album, I Said I Love You First - and on Wednesday they announced a deluxe version of the record will be released next month.
Titled I Said I Love You First...And You Said It Back, the updated album will feature additional songs including collaborations with Glorilla, Cigarettes After Sex and DJ Sliink.
Gomez revealed the deluxe album will be available on 2 May, and added that the expanded edition includes new songs, "some favourites you might recognize, and reimagined songs from the original album."
