Joe Jonas has said dating after divorce is "scary" and "intimidating".
The 35-year-old American singer married British actress Sophie Turner in 2019 and they welcomed two children together.
However, they split in 2023 and finalised their divorce last year and Jonas has explained that his post-divorce dating life has inspired music on his imminent new album, Music for People Who Believe in Love.
Opening up on a TalkShopLive stream on Wednesday, the star revealed a track titled Only Love was inspired by someone he was dating.
He explained, "I was seeing somebody at the time and I was kind of having this idea of dating again. It was really scary and intimidating."
He added, "Love takes different shapes and forms and I was re-discovering what that was."
Jonas went on to say he was amused when he expressed his romantic concerns only for the other person to quip, "Well, it's only love."
He explained, "I was like, 'Well, when you put it that way...' So we wrote a song about it.
"Like, it was not a big deal, but it was a big deal to me, and a big deal to them, too. But it's okay to take a leap of faith and just try again and put yourself out there."
While Jonas did not name names during his discussion, fans will be aware he briefly dated model Stormi Bree following his divorce from Turner.
Music for People Who Believe in Love is due for release on Friday 23 May, 2025.
