Taylor Swift has announced the title of her twelfth studio album.

On Monday, fans began to speculate that the superstar was about to share some big news after a countdown clock appeared on her official website.

The countdown ended at 12:12am, with Swift's page going live with a link for pre-orders for a new album titled The Life of a Showgirl.

Few details about the project are available, with the Shake It Off hitmaker simply offering pre-orders for vinyl, CD, and cassette editions. The website features a mint green and orange glitter colour scheme.

An official release date for The Life of a Showgirl has yet to be announced. However, the items are set to ship ahead of 13 October.

"Depiction of this product is a blurred digital rendering for pre-order purposes only," a description on the website reads. "Actual product artwork and vinyl detailing will be announced at a future date. Please note due to the custom manufacture process, each vinyl unit may be slightly different in coloration."

On Monday morning, Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, fellow National Football League (NFL) player Jason Kelce, teased a "very special guest" for their New Heights podcast.

After rumours swirled that the popstar would be making an appearance, a preview was launched on social media which featured a cameo from the Cruel Summer singer.

In the clip, Swift comments on Kelce's blue sweatshirt, noting, "Such a nice colour on you."

"Yes, I know. It's the colour of your eyes, sweetie. It's why we match so well," he responds.

The next episode of New Heights is set to drop on Wednesday.

Swift, 35, released her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April 2024.
