Dolly Parton has offered some words of advice for Kelly Clarkson after the death of her ex, Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly's ex-husband, and father of her children, Brandon Blackstock, died from skin cancer last week.
Brandon, a talent manager, was 48.
"I think that you just have to be grateful for the years that you've had with someone, and you just try to remember the very best of all that," Dolly, 79, told Entertainment Tonight on Monday.
"Take their energy that they had given you then, and you just kind of recycle that, and let that become a part of you. Just honour their memory and just know they're in a better place than we are these days."
Kelly and Brandon were married for nine years, divorcing in 2022 after having separated in 2020. They continued to co-parent their two children, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy Alexander, 9.
Brandon was also the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire, 70, who broke her silence on his passing this week after her son Shelby Blackstock posted a tribute to his half-brother.
"Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son," he wrote. "Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family - funny, bright, and full of life - and he will be deeply missed."
"Very well said Shelby," Reba replied. "Yes we will miss him so much."
