SAQ to Donate $300K Worth of U.S. Alcohol Instead of Destroying It

Instead of destroying nearly $300,000 worth of American alcohol set to expire, Quebec Finance Minister Éric Girard announced that the SAQ will donate it.

In a social media post, Girard explained that he ensured the SAQ would take steps to “prioritize giving these products to foundations for charity events, as well as using them for training in Quebec’s hotel schools.”

The donation includes a mix of rosé, boxed wines, ready-to-drink cocktails, beers, and liqueurs.
