Giorgio Armani, the iconic Italian designer, has died at the age of 91, his company announced Thursday.
Nicknamed “Re Giorgio,’ King Giorgio, Armani built a fashion empire generating more than $2.7 billion annually. Renowned for his attention to detail, he personally oversaw every collection and aspect of the business.
A funeral chamber will be open to the public in Milan on Saturday and Sunday, with a private service to follow at a later date.
