On September 30, 2025, Canadians will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—a day to honour the victims and survivors of the residential school system and to recognize its lasting impact on Indigenous communities.

Also known as Orange Shirt Day, the occasion will be observed in Montreal with the fifth annual Every Child Matters: A Day of Action for Truth and Reconciliation rally and march. The event is organized by Resilience Montreal and the Native Women’s Shelter, with support from the David Suzuki Foundation, the Alcoa Foundation, and the POP Montreal festival.

The rally begins at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 30, at the Sir George-Étienne Cartier statue in Mount Royal Park. Attendees can expect talks and performances, followed by a march along Parc Avenue, Sherbrooke, and Mansfield, ending at René-Lévesque Boulevard.
