Seems like a broken record, but if you were hoping to ride the full Réseau express métropolitain (REM) anytime soon, you’ll have to wait a little longer…
The new Deux-Montagnes branch in the Laurentians is now set to open in November—one month later than originally planned. Meanwhile, service to l’Anse-à-l’Orme in the West Island has been pushed back all the way to spring 2026.
Originally, both branches were scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024, then delayed to fall 2025… and now postponed yet again.
Once the Deux-Montagnes branch finally opens, the REM will stretch 50 km with 19 stations. Let’s cross our fingers that November goes according to plan!
