Dr. Jane Goodall, the legendary conservationist and leading authority on chimpanzees, has passed away at the age of 91.
She gained worldwide recognition for her decades of groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park.
A statement released on Wednesday, October 1, confirmed that she died of natural causes while on a speaking tour in California.
She is survived by her son, Hugo, and three grandchildren.
