For the third time in less than a year, maintenance workers at the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) have announced new strike dates. The work stoppage will begin overnight on October 31–November 1 and continue through November 28, 2025.
The Syndicat du transport de Montréal-CSN, representing 2,400 maintenance employees, stated in their strike notice that “the STM remains fixed in its positions and refuses to add the necessary people to the table to reach an agreement.”
The previous strikes took place from June 9–17 and September 22–October 5.
While details on how this strike will affect public transit are still limited, the STM has confirmed that paratransit services will continue, there will be some bus and metro service, and arrangements will be made to ensure the highest possible service on Election Day, November 2.
We will keep you updated with further information on bus and metro services during the strike.
