It feels like strikes are popping up everywhere in Montreal lately…

The latest group to take a stand is the office, technical, and professional staff at the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), who will be going on strike starting this Thursday.

Around 500 SAQ employees are expected to walk off the job for seven days unless an agreement is reached beforehand.

According to the union, the SAQ’s current salary offers are not up to par, and members have been without a collective agreement since March.

These employees handle key operations such as the SAQ.com website, store supply, payroll, and quality control.
