While maintenance workers continue their daily strike, Montreal could see another complete shutdown of public transit on November 15 and 16, as STM bus drivers and metro operators are planning to walk off the job.
The union representing 4,500 STM employees, including bus drivers, metro operators, and other staff, has confirmed that these strike days will take place next weekend. This would mark the second and third full shutdown of STM services in November.
Negotiations between the union and the STM are ongoing, but no agreement on essential services has been reached yet.
For now, the maintenance workers’ strike is still in effect, with both metro and bus service operating on a reduced schedule.
