A new report has announced that Canada’s standing in the world happiness rankings has fallen. According to researchers, a major factor in this decline is the impact of social media use on the well-being of young people.
The report, published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, revealed that Finland remains the happiest country in the world, a title it has held for seven consecutive years.
Canada’s ranking shifted this year, dropping two spots from its previous position at 15th. The study suggests that the downward trend is linked to the long hours younger generations spend scrolling through social media, which impacts overall life satisfaction.
