Federal workers in Canada are getting a pay raise! Starting April 1, 2026, the new hourly federal minimum wage will be $18.15.

This is an increase from the $17.75 rate set on April 1, 2025. Employment and Social Development Canada says the raise is meant to keep up with inflation and provide more financial security for Canadians.

To make sure pay keeps up with the cost of living, the federal minimum wage is adjusted every April 1. The new rate is based on the average Consumer Price Index from the year before.
