Calling all Costco lovers! The retail giant is expanding its beverage catalogue with a major new addition.

Costco is currently testing hard liquor sales at its Bridge Street location in Montreal (300 rue Bridge).

This marks a significant shift in Quebec’s tightly controlled alcohol market, which is largely dominated by the SAQ.

One notable difference for shoppers: unlike at the SAQ, where the price on the tag is all-inclusive, Costco will add taxes at the checkout.

If this pilot project is successful, expect to see spirits hitting the shelves at other warehouse locations soon.
