Have you been facing a ridiculous number of potholes in the city lately? Are you absolutely over it? Montrealer Saad Tekiout certainly was and he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Over the past month, Tekiout has been driving around the city filling two to three potholes a day, entirely for free.
His social media videos quickly went viral, eventually catching the attention of Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada. The Mayor commented on Instagram:
“Thank you for the initiative, truly. What you’re doing is appreciated, but it’s not your responsibility (or your team’s) to fill the potholes yourselves. We understand the frustration, especially given the state of the streets inherited from the previous administration. For our part, our teams are working flat out to speed up repairs throughout the city.”
Here’s hoping this initiative inspires the City of Montreal to tackle the pothole problem once and for all!
